The Most Important Starting Point

The very first consideration of any energy management programme is simply to use less. Before you move on to renewable energy technologies, it is vital to introduce a practical and achievable set of energy efficiency measures. Usually, very quick wins can be achieved with little or no capital outlay. You can then move on to longer term measures that require investment, or a change or shift in culture or habits, leading to tangible and sustainable reductions in energy use. Indeed some of the UK's leading grant award programmes are linked to specific energy efficiency baselines.

North Energy is one of the leading energy efficiency consultants in the region. Energy efficiency is vital in the struggle to combat global warming. Energy efficiency measures can be very cost effective too. In many organisations energy savings of 15-20% can be made with little investment.

Reducing energy use could significantly cut your energy bills, increase profit and competitiveness, boost your reputation and help protect the environment. We can offer free energy surveys for qualifying organisations under the government's Carbon Trust scheme funded by the DTI.

North Energy consultants have many years' experience in the energy industry. Please contact us to establish if support is available for your energy efficiency survey.

Carbon Trust Energy Audits

North Energy are fully accredited energy efficiency consultants for the government backed Carbon Trust programme. North Energy's consultants are authorised to carry out energy efficiency surveys at your business premises, and provide you with a report outlining a recommended programme of measures, with priorities for quick wins and longer term actions.

If your organisation's energy bills exceed £50,000 per annum, these surveys and reports are free. If the recommendations within these reports need detailed expert input or include renewable energy as part of the on-site solution, the Carbon Trust scheme can subsidise a more detailed feasibility study to identify the most appropriate technologies and quantify the results you can expect to see.

Multi-site organisations can obtain a larger free survey covering some typical sites which can then be rolled out to others in the group.

If your energy bill is below £50,000, you may still qualify for subsidised survey reports under alternative schemes which are available from different sources from time to time, through which North Energy are also accredited. Please contact our sales team to discuss an appropriate energy efficiency study for your organisation.

Our main consultant for energy efficiency work is Dr Garry Jenkins. Garry and his team have delivered energy audits for factories, bakeries, hotels, motor dealerships, educational establishments and a wide range of other industrial and commercial sites.
